We respect your privacy and make every effort to protect your personal data. It is important to us that our services are transparent, personal and reliable. Your personal data is processed carefully and securely. Therefore, we always process your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG) and/or other special privacy laws.

This privacy statement explains what personal data we process about you, why we do so, how we protect your personal data, what rights you have as a data subject and how you can exercise them. We also indicate how and where you can file a complaint.

Who is responsible for processing your personal data?

The Speech Republic B.V. is the data controller and is located at Hogehilweg 20 (1101 CD) in Amsterdam and is registered at the Chamber of Commerce under number 34123691.

What personal data do we process?

We process your personal data, if you have provided it to us and if you use our services. By personal data we mean any information about an identified or identifiable natural person.

We may process at least the following personal data:

  • NAW data
  • Email addresses
  • Phone numbers

Why do we process this personal data?

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Sending our newsletter;
  • Calling or emailing you, if necessary, to perform our services;
  • Inform you of changes to our services and products.

How do we secure your personal data?

Your personal data will be treated with the utmost care and utter confidentiality.

We ensure that appropriate technical and organizational measures are taken to adequately protect personal data against misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorized changes.

The personal data will also only be used for the above mentioned purposes and shared with those persons within our organization, who necessarily need to know your personal data in order to serve you properly.

Do we share your personal data with third parties?

We share your personal data with third parties only if the sharing is necessary for the proper performance of the agreement we have entered into with you, to comply with any legal obligations, or when you have given your express consent to do so.

With these third parties, who process your data on our behalf, we enter into a processor agreement to ensure that they, too, have an appropriate level of data security and confidentiality similar to our own.

Where do we store your personal data?

Storage of your personal data will only take place in the European Economic Area (EEA), and specifically in the Netherlands. If storage outside the EEA does take place, we will obtain your explicit consent prior to such storage. We will also ensure that additional safeguards are in place in relation to the storage of your personal data outside the EEA.

 

 

Do we do automated decision-making or profiling?

No, we do not engage in automated decision making or profiling.

How long do we keep your personal data?

We will retain your personal data no longer than is necessary for the purpose for which we obtained the personal data and a reasonable period thereafter for any administrative and financial settlement of your order. We may also retain the personal data for longer if you give your express and specific consent to do so. Finally, we may also retain the personal data for longer if we are required to do so by law. Once the agreed or legal deadlines have expired, we will delete the personal data.

Are personal data processed and stored when visiting our website?

When visiting our website, different types of cookies are used. Some cookies are set by third-party services displayed on our pages. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time. What rights do you have under the AVG?

As a data subject, you have the following rights under the AVG:

  • right to access your personal data;
  • right to removal of your personal data. If there is a legal retention obligation, the personal data will be deleted immediately after the expiration of this retention obligation;
  • right to correction or restricted use of data collected and processed;
  • right to data portability (the right to transfer personal data);
  • right to be forgotten;
  • right to object to data processing.

We will process your request regarding the exercise of your right(s) within the statutory deadline of 4 weeks. For complex requests, the deadline may be extended once by 4 weeks. When processing your request(s), we will make use of the legal possibilities to grant or reject it. If the request is rejected, we will give proper reasons.

If we act as a processor and another party is the controller of your personal data, we will forward your request(s) to the controller as soon as possible. You will in that case receive a response to your request(s) from the controller.

How can you file a complaint?
